A hidden gem located in the heart of a neighborhood just off the 408 and east of downtown Orlando, Demetree Park is a great spot for a short stroll among wildlife (we encountered white ibises, a great egret, great blue heron, green heron and many ducks during our quick visit).

Greenwood Urban Wetland
The Greenwood Urban Wetland in Orlando lies adjacent to the historic Greenwood Cemetery. Take a nice stroll around the scenic lake and look for various wildlife along the way. We saw a turtle and a pileated woodpecker during our brief journey. Seek it out!
Lazy Moon Pizza
We finally got an opportunity to check out Lazy Moon Pizza in Orlando and had a great experience! The pizza slices are absolutely huge and delicious. We also sampled the hummus plate and caprese salad. They also have a nice craft beer selection. We visited the East Colonial Drive location just west of Mills Avenue. A second location can be found on University Boulevard near UCF. Highly recommended!
Fall Hike in Split Oak Forest
Nothing beats an energizing hike in magnificent Split Oak Forest on a crisp fall morning. I hiked the northern portion of Split Oak Forest and viewed two deer right off the trail. A great way to start the day!
Darwin
If you ever get the opportunity to explore the amazing Tibet-Butler Preserve in Orlando, make sure you pay a visit to Darwin, a friendly Sulcata Tortoise that resides in a habitat located directly behind the Vera Carter Environmental Center.
