It’s no secret that quality restaurants in Ocoee are few and far between. That’s why That One Spot is such a diamond in the rough! I recommend the salmon burger with fries. Check it out!

Wood Storks
As we wandered around Starke Lake in Ocoee yesterday, we enjoyed the pleasure of viewing two wood storks, a rare and welcome sight indeed!
Birding at Starke Lake
Although The Big Year (2011) is one of my favorite comedies, I do not consider myself a birder (maybe somewhat of a birdwatching enthusiast, if you will). However, one of our favorite places to go birdwatching is Starke Lake in Ocoee. For a small lake, you can actually spot quite a diverse selection of bird species. Check it out!
Grilled Cheese & Brew
Nothing beats an ice-cold beer at Toll Road Brewing Company in Ocoee combined with “The Classic” grilled cheese sandwich from Tao Te Cheese food truck!
Toll Road Brewing Company
If you’re seeking an ice-cold brew in western Orange County, I recommend that you head over to Toll Road Brewing Company, which is located in the heart of downtown Ocoee. We had the pleasure of hanging out there on Friday night and Saturday afternoon. Friday night featured live music and a food truck with some great Cuban cuisine. Saturday afternoon we stayed around for the delicious barbecue. As for the beer itself, I sampled the Irish Red Shamrocks and Shenanigans – totally amazing! Bottom line: This place totally rocks, check it out!
Starke Lake
Believe it or not, Ocoee does not have any nature preserves (yet), so there are only about two options available for anyone seeking out wildlife in the city: hit the West Orange Trail or visit 200-acre Starke Lake, which features an impressive variety of bird species, as well as a boat ramp and fishing pier. Check it out!
Withers-Maguire House
“Southern splendor at its finest, charming, and elegant describes the historic Withers-Maguire House located in Ocoee, Florida. Built in 1888, the house is of a Gothic Stick Style with beautiful Florida Heart-pine floors throughout the interior of the home which is encompassed with an inviting wrap-around porch. The house was purchased in 1979 by the City of Ocoee and meticulously restored to its current beauty and charm.”
