Cassadaga

Known as the “Psychic Capital of the World,” Cassadaga is a small community located just north of Deltona and home to a large number of psychics and mediums. Believe it or not, the Southern Cassadaga Spiritualist Camp was established way back in 1894. If you are passing through Cassadaga, be sure to stop by the Camp Bookstore and browse through the extensive selection of books on metaphysics, spiritualism and spirituality, as well as arts & crafts and more. The Camp Bookstore is also home to the Spiritualist Camp Welcome Center.

Wandering Around Audubon Park

I accidentally stumbled upon Audubon Park while exploring Green Springs Park and the Spring-to-Spring Trail in Deltona. Audubon Park encompasses approximately 60 acres and features a nice boardwalk, four small water bodies used for stormwater management and access via the Spring-to-Spring Trail. It’s a great place to get away from it all (I nearly had the entire place to myself!).

Green Springs Park, Deltona

I saw this Florida alligator at the aptly named Green Springs Park in Deltona on Sunday. A bustling outdoor recreational hot spot, Green Springs Park is not the greatest locale to keep your distance from the populace. However, I do recommend stopping by when it’s less crowded just so you can take a glimpse of the incredibly beautiful springs. According to the official website, “By 1883, Green Springs was part of the large estate of wine importer and steamboat baron Frederick deBary, who used it to entertain guests from DeBary Hall. Well into the 20th century, the site still attracted tourists who were struck by what one observer called the spring’s ‘delicate green waters.'”
